Founder-Led, and Still Hands-On

Position Xero is a performance marketing and lead generation agency, founded and still led by Ronnie James Botes and Keegan Shane Haumann. Ronnie's background is web development and SEO. Keegan's is full-stack development: the sites, landing pages and tracking that campaigns run on. Client work is delivered by a wider team, and both founders stay in the work alongside it. You can read about both founders here.

The company is run from South Africa and every engagement is delivered remotely. Campaign builds, reporting calls, ad approvals and SEO work all happen inside ad accounts, analytics and websites. These roles are remote because that is already how the agency operates.

The work itself is Google Ads and Meta Ads, lead generation, SEO including AI and LLM search optimisation, and conversion-focused web design. The founders also run Cognexa, an AI company, and what gets learned there feeds the AI search work here.

Every client is month-to-month with no lock-in, and reporting is open-book on cost per qualified lead. To see how a client account actually runs, week by week, here is the process in full.

What You Actually Get

Six things that are genuinely true about working on this team, written plainly and without a perks list.

The Founders Are Reachable

Position Xero is founder-led. Ronnie and Keegan are contactable directly, and the people making the decisions are people you can talk to.

Real Ownership From Day One

You own the account, the build or the call outright. The work carries your name, and so does the number it produces.

The Numbers Are Open

Clients get open-book cost-per-lead reporting and a live Looker Studio dashboard. It works the same way internally, so you can see what a campaign cost and what it produced, and judge your own work honestly.

Month-to-Month Keeps Everyone Honest

Every client can cancel at the end of any billing month, so the work has to hold up every month. That is the standard, stated plainly.

More Than One Market

Client work spans several countries. Different buyer behaviour, different currencies and different search intent, often inside the same week.

AI Search Is Part of the Job

AI search optimisation ships with every engagement, built on what the founders learn running Cognexa. There is scope to build on it.

How We Hire

Four steps, with no unpaid spec work and no eight-round interview loop.

01

You Apply

Fill in the form on the role page. It comes straight to us, with no recruiter and no screening software in between.

02

A Person Reads It

Every application is read here by a person. Specifics beat adjectives, so tell us what you actually did and how you knew it worked.

03

A Short Intro Call

A video call covering what you have done, what we are building, and whether the working hours genuinely fit on both sides. A founder joins where they can.

04

A Practical Session

One short, real piece of work talked through together: an account walkthrough, a mock call, or a small build. Then a decision either way.

Before You Apply

Three things worth knowing before you spend time on an application.

You own real work, and you answer for it. These roles are defined by what you own. Scope moves as the company grows, and you answer for the numbers your work produces.

Remote worldwide, with one real constraint. Work from anywhere. Client work runs across international business hours, so meaningful overlap with the working day matters more than which country you are in.

Pay is discussed on the first call. Competitive and role-dependent. We agree the number in a conversation, once we both know the scope. The sales closer package is commission-based with uncapped earnings, and we say so up front so nobody wastes a call.

Pick the Role
That Fits You

Each role page carries the full description and an application form that comes straight to us. Start with the ads manager role, the sales closer role, or the full stack developer role.
